If you’re a regular reader of our blog and you are aware of investigations being carried out with anti-cancer foods and plants, you know that it is common that each week is found that a compound x in certain plant can prevent or fight cancer. Just talk about it today, because a team of British researchers has found that watercress may fight cancer.
This is an investigation that was conducted by Professor Graham Packham of Cancer Research UK Centre of the University of Southampton, has published research in the British Journal of Nutrition in highlighting the properties of watercress for cancer.
The results of that are extracted from an experiment in which they worked with patients who were given 80 grams of watercress per day. After eating, the researchers measured the anti-cancer response of the organism.
After thirty minutes of the watercress consumed, the body’s response of patients was activated and strengthened, apparently due to a chemical compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cell growth.
The research is interesting, because a little more research about it could discover a new food to prevent and fight cancer, findings that always contribute to the field of natural medicine.
